Why install a roof parapet?
The roof parapet prevents water from the high wall from dripping onto the masonry. For optimal protection, it is important to choose a parapet with a good thickness, from 26 to 28 gauges. The lower the gauge, the thicker the metal.
What is the roof parapet?
The parapet is a metal structure that connects the roof to the exterior masonry wall. In order to be truly effective, the parapet must allow a good clearance from ¾ to 1 inch outside the masonry. A drip line must also be installed to allow water to drain outside the masonry wall.
